Are Herkimer and Lemuria Diamonds real Diamonds?

Posted by Loren Mickelson on Feb 26, 2010 in Fortunate Number, Jewelry, Stones

I was in Sedona, AZ a few months ago.  While in one of the stores I asked if they had any Herkimer Diamonds.  The store owner said no but I have Lemuria Diamonds.  I had never heard of them.

Lemuria Diamonds are quartz crystals found about fifty miles from Sedona.  They were created in limestone pockets, a result of a great inland sea that once existed here, floating in solution, seed crystals formed.  As single crystals they attached to the limestone walls and continued to grow.  Lemuria Diamonds were believed to be programmed and buried by the magical people of Lemuria.  The diamonds assist us in reaching high meditative states and are extremely powerful healing tools.  They are primarily feminine in their nature and assist us in protective, sweet, wise and have a powerful beauty.  They are waiting for us all to open our hearts to them and become a part of the magnificent grid of light they exist in.  Needless to say I bought a double terminated crystal.

When I calculated the name of the stone (Lemuria Diamond) to see what its Chaldean number would be, it ended up being a 6, which is Diane’s fortunate number.  With that in mind, I made the wire-wrapped necklace pictured below.

Herkimer Diamonds were discovered in Herkimer, NY, USA.  It is a form of quartz which crystallizes in the configuration of double-terminated short, stout, or included prismatic crystals.  It provides energy of delicate harmony, enhancing distinct awareness.  Herkimer diamonds helps you to “be”, providing for an alliance of surrender and a strength allowing for the further recognition of the essential being within the self; recognition of this aspect also provides for the acknowledgment and appreciation of the essential being, which is not the self, but is within each of us.  This special stone energizes, enlivens and promotes creativity.  It is a stone of attunement.  It stimulates psychic abilities such as clairvoyance, spiritual vision and telepathy, linking guidance from higher dimensions.  It promotes dream recall and understanding.  Herkimer’s clear all chakras and opens channels for spiritual energy to flow.

Since both of these stones are from the Quartz family, I feel as though I should add something about quartz.  Clear Quartz amplifies, focuses, stores and transfers energy.  It is considered a master healer.  During sleep it can promote psychic dreams.

Why Fortunate Number Jewelry?

Posted by Loren Mickelson on Feb 24, 2010 in Fortunate Number, General, Jewelry

It has been a goal of mine to create pieces of jewelry to assist your current process, increase your resonance and raise your vibration while protecting your energy field through the use of stones.  I have been creating jewelry for quite some time while researching out different theories that could somehow be adapted in the designing process of each piece of jewelry.  So I really am not sure if the title, Fortunate Number Jewelry, is the best name for the pieces of jewelry that I create.

Sacred geometry took into consideration universal patterns that were often observed in architecture and art.  These ratios, harmonics and proportions are also found in music, light and cosmology.

Pythagoras found that a string stopped halfway along its length produced an octave, while a ratio of 3/2 produced a fifth interval and 4/3 produced a fourth.  Pythagoreans believed that this gave music powers of healing, as it could “harmonize” the out-of-balance body and this belief has been revived in modern times.

All things in nature are made up of patterns, structures, designs from the atom to water crystals, to the stars.  Each object in nature has its own energetic vibration and frequency.  The interaction of all the vibratory frequencies found in all creation show us the intrinsic unity of the part to the whole.  With everything working together yet separately reminds us all of the sacredness and connection we have to everything and everything to us.  We truly are connected with all of creation.

Along with the circle, square, and triangle we also need to take a look at what is called the Golden Mean since it gives rise to a spiral form which occurs in many natural forms and patterns of plant growth.  The Golden Mean is found in ancient temples, pyramids, classical paintings, in the cross-sectional view of a DNA molecule, in the combined nesting of the 5 platonic solids.  It is found in the Fibonacci Sequence:  1,1,2,3,5,8,21,34,55,89,144…  a trinity relationship of 3 numbers, where the previous number like 2, the past, is added to the present number 3 to five the future number 5.  It is found in the counterclockwise spirals of the sunflower and the pine cone and the heart and is the basis of Atomic Mathematics.

We are born with what I like to imagine as a clean slate.  We are given a birth name which serves as our birth blueprint.  All the letters in this name has a vibration.  As we grow older, the name that we are called now (current name) may be different than our birth name, thus the vibration being altered.  Fortunate Number Jewelry takes your current name and calculates each letter to see if it adds up to a fortunate number.  To get your current name to vibrate to a fortunate number, certain stones are used to alter the vibration of your name to a fortunate number.

Alexandrite – Never heard of it before.

Posted by Loren Mickelson on Feb 22, 2010 in General

This post was originally on our, www.DrsMickJewelry.com, site yesterday and I thought it would be a great start for this blog, Fortunate Number Jewelry.

I had a numerology pendant to design this past week and could not find a stone that felt right for the client.  In designing, I try to find a somewhat unique focal stone and then put other stones along with it.  To make a long story short I ended up with a stone called Alexandrite.  In the Orient, it is regarded as a magical gemstone bringing good fortune to its owner.  This stone exhibits different colors in different directions when viewed in different light sources.  Depending on the stone it can shift from blue to purple to green to red-violet.

The metaphysical properties of this stone provide for the synthesis between the third-eye chakra, heart chakra, and base chakra and have produced excellent results in astral travel via the spectrum of color.  Use of these crystals can help one to return to the origin of time and to connect with the beginning of ones development; this facilitates the understanding of and the sensitivity to, that which remains to be learned and provides for insight into the effortless way to attain higher realization.

Some people have said that Alexandrite has regenerative power.  The stone enhances the rebirth of both the inner and the outer self, providing impetus to expedite the changing of ones world while producing the qualities of expansiveness, creativity and awareness in the realm of manifestation.

Alexandrite has the ability to assist you in centering the self, reinforcing self-esteem and augmenting your ability to experience joy and to both acknowledge and appreciate the interconnectedness of all of nature.

I am including a picture of the Alexandrite pendant at the end of the verbage.  The stone itself is about 1 ½ inches tall.  Sterling silver was used along with five different colors of tourmaline and a faceted lemon quartz bead dangling from the bottom.

For a stone I had never heard of the end product was quite a surprise.
