Fortunate Number Necklace for Diane (fortunate number 6)

In getting ready for the trip to Sedona, AZ. Diane suggested I should put together a fortunate number piece of jewelry for her that I could put on display.  After calculating her numbers, I started the search through the inventory of stones that we have pulling out the stones that are possible candidates for the piece of jewelry.  Even if I have calculated her number to be “6”, the focal stone for her piece may be something else that she needs to enhance her at this time.  The smaller stones that go on the piece will be her fortunate number.  So this piece for Diane will be more personalized than normal.

The focal stone that spoke to me the loudest was a large faceted piece of clear quartz.  In thinking about Diane, this stone would not be one that she would choose to wear.  I know I had to put that information aside and continue to go forward with my gut and intuit the remainder of the piece.

When I actually start the creation process, I first select what I would consider inspirational music on the CD player.  This seems to help manipulate and encourages everything to flow more easily.  Once the music is selected and playing is when I start to measure and cut the sterling silver.  Then the winding of the wire begins.  This is the part where it feels like I totally get lost in the designing the piece of jewelry.  I never know what is going to take place when the wire wrapping begins.  I have all the stones selected waiting to go when the piece calls for them.

Some wrapping of wire, some weaving, some spirals, some twists and turns and I am almost done with the wrapping.  Then come the stones.  Oh no!!! The wire I have is too big to go through the hole in the stone.  That means a trip to the store.  The size of wire I had was 24 gauge fine silver.  What I needed to get was 28 gauge.

The store was out of 28 gauge so I ended up with 26 gauge and it worked just fine.  All the stones were added and the piece was finished.  Multicolored tourmaline, jet and tanzanite were the stones that were added to the clear quartz.  It is interesting that Diane has always been drawn to these stones.
